Excite has been under new management since late 2001. When you
gave @Home, the former owners of Excite, permission to transfer your
member data to us, Excite allowed your email address of record to be
your @excite.com address. We now require members to provide an alternate
email address when updating their Member Info.
Why do we now require an alternate email address?
This is particularly important should you ever lose your password and
need a new one sent to you via email. If the contact address we have for
you is an Excite Email address, sending a new Excite password to that
account will be of no assistance to you because you will not be able to
access it. An alternate email address avoids this scenario.
So if you're getting an error message when trying to update your
information, please be sure you've updated the "Email Address" field by
providing a non-"@excite.com" email address.
