Note: New messages appear in bold type in the message list.
Your email account is initially set to display 25 messages per screen. You can view more messages by doing one of the following:
You can sort messages in the message list by Sender (From), Subject, Date or Size by clicking on the appropriate header. Click the same header a second time to sort messages in the opposite direction.
For example, to sort messages by Sender from A to Z, click the "Sender" link. To sort from Z to A, click the "Sender" link again.
To delete a message, click the checkbox (or checkboxes, for multiple message deletion) to the left of the message(s), and click Delete. To select all messages, click the Check All link at the bottom of your Inbox list.
Note: Once you delete a message, it will be placed in your Trash folder. You must click the "(Empty)" link to the immediate right of your Trash folder to permanently delete your mail. However, Excite will periodically empty your Trash folder.
To empty your Trash folder, click the "(Empty)" link to the immediate right of your Trash folder in the left column navigation. Then choose "Yes" from the pop-up window. Emptying your trash will permanently delete all messages in the trash folder, whether or not the checkbox is marked.
To move a message to a different folder, click the checkbox to the left of that message, then select the folder from the Move To dropdown list.
The following icons indicate the status of messages in the message list:
Bold Type New Message
Previously Read Messages will appear in regular (not bold) text.
"Mark as Unread" - You can mark an email as unread by choosing "Mark as Unread" from the dropdown in the upper navigation bar, then clicking "Go."
"Mark as Read" You can mark an unread email as read by choosing "Mark as Read" from the dropdown in the upper navigation bar, then clicking "Go."
Flag for follow up. You can mark an email in your inbox with a flag. To do so, choose "Flag for Follow Up" from the dropdown in the upper navigation bar. Then click "Go."
"Clear Flag" You can clear the flag from a marked email by choosing "Clear Flag" from the dropdown in the upper navigation bar, then clicking "Go."

Message includes an attachment
You have the ability to change the status of an inbox message - or multiple messagess, simultaneously - by clicking the checkbox next to the message you are changing and using your "Select an Action" dropdown menu found in your inbox's upper navigation bar.
Here are the actions you can take:
Mark as Unread - You can mark any email as unread - even if it has been previously opened.
Mark as Read - You can mark any unread email as having already been read.
Flag for Follow Up - Marks an email in your inbox with a flag as a reminder to you to return to the message in the future.
Clear Flag - Removes the flag from an email you have marked.
NOTE: The "Report As Spam" button allows you to send messages you believe to be spam directly from your inbox to Excite for review. (These emails will then automatically be moved to your Trash folder.)
To display a message, click the subject of the message in the message list.
To reply to the message sender, click the Reply button in the message window. To reply to the sender and all listed recipients of the original message, click the Reply All button.
To forward a message click the Forward button in the message window.
There are two forwarding options (found in the dropdown menu next to the Forward button in the Compose Message screen) available to you:
Attachments are listed at the bottom of the message window as file names, preceded by the icon. To open an attachment, click on its filename.
To print a message, click the Print View button in the upper right corner of the message window. This opens the message only in its own browser window, allowing you to use the print function on your browser to print the message.
You can add the sender of a message to your Address Book. To save a sender's address in your Address Book:

Your Excite Email account has a storage space limit of 125MB. You can quickly check how much storage space is left in your account on the Storage Disk Space Summary page. There are two ways to access this page:
From your Inbox Hub - On your Inbox Hub page (the page that appears when you first sign in to your account or when you click on the Mail tab), click on the link "Click here to check your storage."
From Mail Preferences - You can also access your account's storage disk space summary by clicking "Mail Preferences" in your upper navigation bar, and then clicking the "Storage Disk Space Summary" link.
Refer to the Storage Disk Space Summary page to see how much of your storage quota has been used and to see the distribution of your email messages in your folders.
Remember: Messages in all of your folders - including Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Bulk and Trash folders - count toward your 125MB storage space limit. To free up space, delete some of your messages and then be sure to empty your trash.
